Tanzania Livestock Research Institute (TALIRI) expects to spend TZS 13,109,646,600.00 (13.1 billion) during the 2026/2027 financial year to strengthen research and development within  livestock sector in the country.

In his remarks,Mr. Benard Francis, this budget reflects a 3.5% increase compared to the previous year, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency and productivity within the industry.

The funds will be directed toward key priority areas, including forage production, development, and distribution of high-quality livestock feed sources, livestock breeding and nutrition, animal Health and Welfare and Capacity Building.

This strategic investment aims to boost productivity for livestock farmers and stimulate the overall growth of the livestock sector in Tanzania.
