Dr Ezekiel Hamisi Goromela is a principal livestock research officer. His academic and professional qualifications include a PhD (Animal Science) from Wageningen University (WUR), The Netherlands; Master of Science in Biology (with specialization in Tropical Livestock Systems) from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) Uppsala, Sweden and Bachelor of Science in Agriculture specialized in Animal Science at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) Morogoro, Tanzania. Dr. Goromela has been involved in various livestock research and development programmes at national and international levels for more than 25 years. His major research interest is in the areas of poultry nutrition, management, breeding and consultancy. He has published over 50 scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and proceedings of scientific conferences and symposia. Dr. Goromela has served as the country principal investigator of the African Chicken Genetic (ACGG) Project, Agriculture to Nutrition (ATONU): Improving Nutrition Outcomes through Optimized Agriculture Investments Project, Women in Business: Chicken Seed Dissemination in Tanzania project and Horasi chicken breeding programme. He has also served as External Examiner of more than 10 Masters and 3 PhD students. Dr Goromela has been involved in reviewing and editing scientific books, monographs and many scientific articles. At one stage he has been involved in teaching research methodology, research proposal writing, scientific report writing for agricultural research, presenting scientific papers, editing and publishing scientific articles in Journals and books. Dr Goromela has served as a consultant in the project identification and planning, project management, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, fundraising and partnership for community development. He is a member of TALIRI Scientific and Publications Committee and a member of the World Poultry Congress and Technical Adviser of the Tanzania Smallholder Poultry Association (TASPA).

Dr Goromela is currently serving as Acting Zonal Director of the Southern Zone at TALIRI-Naliendele, Mtwara and National Leader of Non Ruminant Research Programme in Tanzania.
